Background
The individual was referred to me because HMRC were pursuing him for a significant amount of tax debt from previous years (over £9000 and interest continued to be added daily).

The Challenge
The client had parted company with his original accountant some years before, hadn’t submitted any tax returns for some time and wanted to mitigate against a large accountant’s invoice. NGM had to understand the underlying issues clearly and use detailed knowledge of tax law to develop a suitable solution for the client.
“I would like to thank John Fairgrieve from NGM Accountants for helping my client with his tax bill.
My client was facing a very large tax bill caused by my client not filing his returns properly. John got straight onto the case and sorted my client out with returns properly. John got straight onto the case and sorted my client out with inland revenue and managed to save him a lot of worry and more importantly money.”

How did NGM Help?
When we first agreed to work with the client it was important to listen carefully to the problems, ask pertinent questions and consider responses in detail. Having diagnosed the issues accurately, we were able to contact HMRC during our first meeting and agree an immediate reduction in his tax liability of almost £4000.
